My favourite subject named Performance Theory II. Class was guided by teacher Andres Grumann. In classes we reviewed part of the most importat facts in scenic arts history. Well, the class started first with a summary of topics that we talked last class. Then we talked about contents we have seen and contents that we were seeing. Sometimes we had to do speeches about any scenic area, or essays or comments at class. We had to do quizes too. Once, two classmates and me had to do an essay about a visual analysis from a play that we must chose. We didn't get a great mark but we felt we understood how we have to think up theatre and scenic problems. The teacher was talking about topics like body, space, performance art, new ways to make scenic systems, sociology and antropology of theatre and some ideas about theatricality in society. In main exponents of modern scene, he emphasise creators like Pina Bausch, Rimini Protokol, Javier Le Roy, Oskar Schlemmer, among others. So, in respect of why I liked the subject, well, Andres is a great expert about scenic arts and everything connected with theatre and dance. Also, the subject allowed open up our minds and knowledge about Scenic or Performance Design. I feel so grateful to have learnt many many things about. 

dear frodo

This time I'm going to write about my best friend and brother Frodo. How you see, he is a dog, oh well! he was. He died the last April 18 suffering a cancer, generated by lupus, a disease that attack the immune system. He is (or was) a collie like fictional character on TV show 

Lassie. He was 11. At home we love so much. It's unbelievable when we create some links with 

pets as one more relative in family. When he came to home, he was a little fuzzy ball. My mother 

must chose between him and a little female. The first nights with Frodo, he slept at toilet, in a box 

and newspapers to piss. While he was growing up, we had good times together. Sometimes, my

family and me had trips to countryside. In that places, he was the most happy being walking the 

world. How I miss'im. Occasionally, I imagine Frodo running around the house like he did. Sometimes

I feel he is walking beside me going the city. My dear friend, everywhere you stay, I hope you are

happy and quiet, getting around some place far far away from here, far from this corrupt world. Just

be careful. Peace.

Leap into the void

This time I'm going to write about this picture. Do you know it? The picture was taken by Harry Shunk, photojournalist from Dimanche news and published by him and Janos Kender as well. The image shows a performance by french artist Yves Klein (neo-dada artist) who is apparently jumping from window of a building. Photography shows exact moment when Klein is suspend in air then he jumped. Shunk took this picture in 1960 and was published in press on November 27 of the same year. I liked this picture because I like the Klein's work at first. He sought to give primacy to the intangible in art and cutting-edge trends resurrect after creative fatigue caused by World War II. His work put in practice the aesthetics of the immaterial, the poetization of the aerial and space semantization. He starts questioning reality through that time extract. So we don't really know if he is actually jumping to street or it was a photomontage such composed that can be believable to see.

the responsable possession of a dog always has been a hard thing about chilean legislation, however, a different topic is about the street dogs situation because they're living in streets already. so, municipality of santiago, specifically the mayor carolina toha, chose the mulct as a punishment against people who feed street dogs without be their owners. the initiative generates from the critical situation of many dogs as a population control of dogs and it was presented by municipality as order 106 about protection and responsible pet ownership. it consists in a payment of 200.000 pesos if person who feeds street animals does not take of them. 

the disadvantage of this is about defense of life. although the population control of animals is a real problem in the city, authorities boast of defense of life and animal protection, so it seems like a contradiction in moral and legal terms. we can see thousand of dogs starving on streets. they need love and food, so some people feed dogs without an interest to be a dog owner because a lot of them never will be confortable living at home. they are accustomed to living in street.

according to a study from universidad iberoamericana de ciencias y tecnologias, in gransantiago there are 1.142.037 between 2000 and 2006. the number would increased in last years. meanwhile it does not exist legal and cultural answers to solve the problem and answers continue coming from small orders without a previous social plan, authorities mustn't prohibit a free relationship with street animals, understanding that any street situation works in freedom. there is a fine line between authorities and legal power and cultural practices.

the most wonderful piece of technology that I use is my mp4 music player device, phillips trademark, model gogear vibe 4 gb with 1.5 inch color screen. it's a music player device like any other, but i love MINE since i got it.. my mom gave it to me in 2009, on my birthday. the device i got four years ago you could think it's still in fine fettle but it's not. i've got problems at moment i push button "play"so i've been thinking of buying another music player, but it is a pity at the same time. however, i've used the device very well, i think, taking in mind how old it is and how much time these kind of devices last. i used my mp4 everytime, since i wake up to go university to the moment i come home at night. i like it cause it contains all of my favourite music, and music helps me to inspire my creativity. my life without my music player device would be boring and probably there would be nothing that could inspire as music does in life.

In December 8 of 2010: young become saint

Just between stir news about fire in San Miguel jail, a group of young assembled a pilgrimage to the San Cristobal hilltop walking accompanied by a lot of people follow them with a religious figure. That figure was the transexual Karol Romanoff, before known as Miguel Angel Poblete, the Peñablanca's seer, who claimed he could saw the Virgin, during the chilean dictatorship, in late 80's. The group of young was integrated by students from the University Coordinator for Sexual Diversity. This woman was proclaimed the first chilean transexual saint by that group and the religious image in walking did not show the figure of a thin young guy.

Poblete became a woman around 2000 years, when his condition was released in press publishing , saying he was taking female hormones and making a sex change and be a travesti. Because never it knows if the divine visions stuff was right or it was a set-up for divert attention in dictatorship time. Karol died in 2008 by a hepatic disease.

                                 Que Me Veux-Tu? (What Do You Want From Me?), 1928

This website is part of Tumblr, a microblogging platform and social networking website. The service allows users to post multimedia and other content to a short-formblog. Users can follow other users, making a network between different people from all over the world. This tumblr contains gender theory and queer theory-related topics expressing through photographs, paintings, drawings, serigraphy works, and more. Body is the most important graphic mean that the artists have to refer gender theory which has been working since 70's. The word 'queer' means something or someone weird or unusual. As category, queer is used to nominate a codes system that refer an ideology and life style between sexual minorities (LGBT). The word tries to show a manifest from identity of everyone building abody and mind since a dissidence way to act in society, defending a no-correct way to behave, without the using of heteronorm establishment. 

One of my favorite artist is the icelandic singer Björk. She started her career when she was a little child. Her first studio album was recorded in 1977, "Björk". In the 80's, Björk joined a band, The Sugarcubes who had great success. They became the first one icelandic band who get world fame. Then, Björk moved to London where she started her first soloist work with Massive Attack's musical producer. The album name was Debut make one's debut for her career as an integral artist, activist for the environment, concern of the traditions from her native land, curious inside medial arts world and the new brands of expression, a lot of stuff that I like so much. Another albums: Post, Homogenic, Vespertine, Medulla, Volta and Biophilia. Her music is described like a mixture of genres, taking into account electronic sounds, passing for trip hop, jazz, ethereal wave, drum & bass, alternative rock and alternative dance. I like the way she has created innovative and transgressor lines of expression.

My favorite song's Björk is Hyperballad from the second album, Post. Hyperballad's lyrics are so beautiful, it contains a lot of emotions, and its video, made by Michael Gondry (like other videos), one of my favorite artists.

Björk has been in Chile three times, 1997, 2007 and 2012. I went the two last years when she came. In 2007, she came to Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo, presenting Voltaic Tour. In 2012, she came under Lollapalooza Chile festival to show us her last one album, Biophilia. Her concerts are very intense, with a lot of incitements and variety of emotions.
